Disney Plus Has Me "StarStruck" All Over Again

Everyone was so ready for Disney plus and so was I. I have missed being able to watch all the classics like The Little Mermaid, The Fox and the Hound, and Lady and the Tramp. And honestly, I completely forgot about The Country Bears, and I was so excited when I saw it on the app.

Now, let's talk about the Disney Channel originals. I was super excited about all the High School Musicals, the Cheetah Girls, and both of the Camp Rocks. What I had kind of forgotten about was StarStruck, Motocrossed, and Geek Charming.

StarStruck is, in my opinion, one of the best Disney Channel original movies. Its plot was of course the typical boy meets girl and falls in love, but it had a different spin to it.

Sterling Knight, a.k.a. Christopher Wilde, was a giant childhood crush for me. And I definitely wanted to be Danielle Campbell who played Jessica Olsen.

Watching StarStruck, when it first came out, I vividly remember thinking "wow, I wish a guy would sing to me like Christopher Wilde is singing to Jessica." Haha. And who am I kidding? If a guy sang to me like that right now, I would probably fall in love with him on the spot. Just kidding. Well, kind of.

There was also Motocrossed. It was a hit at my house because I have two brothers, one of which raced dirtbikes, so of course, he liked that one. Motocrossed, if you don't remember, is about a Andi and her family. Her brother raced but injures his leg and can't ride anymore.

Andi comes in and races for her brother, but has to hide it from her father and everyone else. Of course there are tons of cute boys at the track, so it was hard to stay on track and not reveal herself. There always has to be that one guy though.

After some tough competition, Andi wins the big race, only to be outed by a fellow racer who says Andi shouldn't be allowed to compete because she is a girl. Jokes on him though. A sponsorship company is inspired by her, because she rose to the top in a man's world. It's such a girl power movie. Plus she got the guy she liked in the end too.

Another childhood favorite of mine was Geek Charming. The popular girl meets geek boy and voila, the perfect Disney Channel movie.

When Josh, the geek, begins his film project and picks Dylan, the most popular girl in school, as his film subject, I think every girl watching set her standards too high. We all wanted a movie to be made about us, and to fall in love with the movie maker as it was being filmed.

It never failed that Disney gave us another relationship to pine after. That's okay though. We loved it, and I'm so glad Disney Plus gave us all these originals back!!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
