Taylor Swift just came out with the video for her single called Delicate. Delicate is one of my favorites off Reputation because it's so relatable. I think we have all been through a situation where we just really like a certain person before they enter fully into our lives. The song is so dreamy, so when I found out it was coming out with a video I had to watch it.
I like how the video starts off with her being interviewed and fans really wanting to take pictures with her. She's in her element and then she steps out of the element and doesn't know exactly what to do with herself but to make strange faces and dance.
Which I think is kind of how we feel as a society as women when we step out of our {social media} element. We truly become ourselves and show everyone how we are with our personality. So Taylor captures this perfectly when she's looking in the mirror.
She's also kind of picking out her flaws in a sense while she's doing that, which I know I do that A LOT when looking in the mirror. We want to look and act and certain way because social media has taught us that we should look #onfleek all the time.
I think the video captures this scene how its supposed to be and its supposed to make us viewers think about how we look at ourselves in the mirror before heading out on the town.
The rest of the video is amazing and I like how all the dances were different and she chose different locations in the video to do those dances. The video also teaches us as a society that although we may look at ourselves differently in the mirror, we should also embrace our quirks.
That is what Taylor is trying to convey in the message of the song. Yes there are parts of the song about liking someone, but the song also expresses how you need to be yourself and show the real you before letting that special someone in your life.
