A Definitive Ranking Of The Best Emojis

If you’re anything like me, you find emojis to be an essential part of communicating. Emojis have become somewhat of a second language. It’s not difficult to send a text consisting only of emojis and have your intended message clearly conveyed. Sometimes, there is simply no other way to express your feelings than emojis. With over 300 emojis to choose from, it can be difficult to decide which emoji fits best, but fear not—here is a definitive ranking of the 10 best emojis.

10.

This emoji is the perfect balance of crazy but seemingly laid back. As a result of these characteristics, it is very versatile and can be used in a number of situations. When attempting to make a joke out of something you might be a tad serious about, this emoji is necessary.

9.

The grimacing face is another extremely functional emoji that has relevance in an abundance of situations. It can be used as a symbol of excitement, nervousness, or stress—or some combination of all three.

8.

This dark moon emoji has an interesting twist on it because of the side glance the eyes are making. It is usually used as a symbol of innocence with a sneaky side to it. This emoji is definitely underrated and under used.

7.

The angel emoji is simply a classic. It can be used as a literal angel, or it can be used sarcastically, making this emoji essential in any texter’s vocabulary.

6.

The hands up emoji is one of pure happiness and relief. It can represent gratitude towards a person or towards your own amazing luck. In the timeless words of Drake, this emoji is also representative of "blessings on blessings on blessings."

5.

The smiling devil emoji is another vastly underrated one. It has such a double personality and paradoxical tone. This emoji has an abundance of personalities depending on the intention, whether it is meant to be excited, devious, or simply up to no good.

4.

The smiling emoji with a tear is quite possibly my most used emoji. All to often, it is a perfect representation of life, especially life in college. There is always a reason to be simultaneously laughing and crying, whether it be about a stressful yet exciting event or about your own dumb mistake.

3.

This dancing emoji is for the times you’re feeling a little extra fancy. One could say that this emoji is reserved for those times you’re “feeling yourself.” There is no better representation of confidence and sassiness.

2.

I think we need to take a minute to thank the iOS 9.1 update for the amazing gift of this emoji. I have no idea what I did before this emoji because it comes in so handy to describe almost every mood and situation. Life without this emoji was just incomplete.

1.

The “sassy Sally” emoji is absolutely essential and easily deserves the Number One Emoji award. There is no better way to describe one’s sarcasm. This emoji is straightforward and bold, yet adds some humor to any sassy text message.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
