After exhausting yourself with all of last weekend's holiday celebrations, it might be pretty hard to convince yourself (and you pocketbook) to check out the post-Christmas sales that pop up across the country. However, I suggest you shake yourself out of your eggnog-induced slumber and make your way to the nearest mall, because there's some pretty amazing shopping opportunities available for significantly cheaper prices that you saw before the holidays. Here's a few of the best products to pick up while prices are still low.

1. Anything at department stores

From that pair of jeans you've been coveting to a pair of fluffy new pillows, anything you can find at a local department store like JC Penny's, Kohl's, or even Macy's is going to be on super-sale after the holiday buying rush. In order to make room for new products, clothing and bedding will be more affordable than usual, just in time to spruce up your wardrobe or home before the new year.

2. Electronics stores

Much like Black Friday, the Monday after Christmas finds electronics stores like BestBuy running sales on electronic products and accessories. If you weren't able to get your hands on the latest electronic fad before Christmas--those virtual reality goggles, perhaps?--go check out your favorite electronics chain and see if you might have saved a few bucks by waiting until after the holiday rush.

3. Winter accessories

I know a ton of families who buy their winter clothes during the summer in order to take advantage of low prices, but pro tip: the sales on winter apparel (coats, boots, snow pants, snow sport equipment, etc.) and decorations (all the twinkling lights you could ever want!) start directly after the holidays and can save you tons on next years Christmas celebrations while simultaneously keeping your summer stress (and snow)-free.

4. Local shops!

While it's tempting to only drop in on the big chain stores to check out sales, be sure to poke around in your favorite local shops as well. These smaller, family-owned shops have more unique wares and also run sales in order to make room for new products, so don't forget to drop by!

clock indicates that it is free time

While the idea of free time without a stressful job or an abundance of schoolwork looming over your head may sound like a dream, it can be a nightmare at times. Having a couple of days to decompress is needed for a healthy mind and body. But when too many days go by, it can cause a downward spiral of thoughts and feelings.

As a recent jobless graduate, I was ecstatic to be free from responsibility and take a break from my normal life. That was until I realized just how responsible I had been and needed to be to continue being self-sustained. I learned a few things in this month of unemployment that encouraged me to find a job as soon as possible.

The temperature may not be very Autumn-like, but these playlists sure are.

Autumn is my favorite time of the year. The leaves change, pumpkin spice everything hits the shelves (thank you, world!), the 13 Nights of Halloween on Freeform (formerly abcfamily) and the temperature drops. Well, the temperature is supposed to drop. Being in south Alabama, however, means that the temperature may be relatively low early in the mornings, but you're still going to suffer in the afternoon. So if the weather outside isn't getting you in the Autumn mood, maybe these Spotify playlists will help you slip into that wonderful, Autumn state of mind.

As human beings, there are just some things that seem to bring us all together with the same sense of irritation. Here are a few of those annoying things that make my list. I'm sure at least some, if not most, of them make yours as well. If you can think of any more relatable annoyances that I've missed, feel free to comment on this article and let me know!

First Snow

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

I have never understood why grown-ups complain when the leaves are all off the trees, and the temperatures take a decided turn towards the zero on the thermometer. I hear complaints about the impending winter weather, and the driving in the snow and ice. We live in Pennsylvania, so I bite my tongue instead of stating the obvious: Maybe you should move to a warmer climate?
