Punk is undeniable in its ever-expanding arch of influence. I’m not just talking about the music. It’s the attitude of Clint Eastwood in his Spaghetti Western, "Dollars Trilogy.” It’s Lady GaGa wearing a meat dress at an awards show. It’s limitless in its bounds.
If you look around the genre of Punk, there are thousands of different sounds; from screaming and distorted guitars spewing energy and disdain on every second of sound, to a ballad of love for a missed girlfriend.
Punk is going against what’s accepted or the norm, it’s a revolution within anyone wanting to make a difference.
Feminism is inherently punk. If you’re a feminist, you don’t have to enjoy what someone might define as Punk music to be punk. You are going against the grain and fighting for a change. You’re as Punk as they come.
Black Lives Matter is inherently Punk. There’s a problem with the status quo, and they’re working at bettering the world.
Muhammad Ali was a Punk. Colin Kaepernick is Punk. Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Abraham Lincoln, Harry Potter, you name it; they’re all Punk.
Punk isn’t downgrading anyone based on appearance, sound, or opinion.
Much like many of the deity’s that either exist, or are created by humans, Punk is beyond our understanding.
