An Open Letter To College Seniors
Fast Co Exist

Your last year of college is here. It's super exciting because you have so many things ahead of you. I've been there, and I was so happy to be almost done with school, but at the same time, I was sad. I was really sad to leave all my friends that had become my family and a place I called home. It is hard when you have been around the same people for 4 years and have been in the same place and became so close with them, and then you have to all go your separate ways. That will be the hardest part. Besides that, though, there are many things to look forward to.

Although it may be scary, shortly after you start your senior year, you must apply for graduation. Of course this is just one more thing you get charged for, for some reason, but nevertheless, it can be exciting. And a tad scary at the same time. You may or may not have thoughts in the back of your head hoping and praying you are able to graduate, but don't stress, most likely you'll be fine.

With this being your last year of college, you have to take advantage of it and do all the senior things provided on campus. Some campuses will do a ton of fun and free stuff for seniors. Then there will be things you never did the whole time you were in college, but always secretly wanted to try. This is the time to go do those things! Make a bucket list of things you want to do and try and accomplish them all! Even if they seem weird, you may never get the chance to do that thing again. So take full advantage of it, and just do it. Enjoy taking long naps! Take lots of naps when you can because soon you won't have that luxury. Go to all the sporting events! Like every single home game, you can go to. Dress up for homecoming and special games. Be that crazy fan. Cheer on the seniors on a senior night because being a senior athlete is a whole other story, and it is hard enough on its own.

As the year goes on, you get to look forward to trying on your cap and gown and getting all the many overwhelming senior things and emails. You'll have your friends take senior pictures of you with their phones because it's so much cheaper but honestly just as good as professionals! You'll go eat at all the places on campus, and take in all the cafe food you possibly can because you may hate it sometimes, but you know you'll miss it.

When the year comes to a close, you'll be sad that things are coming to an end, but reflect back on the fun times you've had and you will forever have those memories with those people that were once strangers, but are now your family. You've learned so much over the past 4 years and you really can't trade that for anything. You've not only become smarter and figured out what you want to do in life, but you have learned more about life. You have become so much more mature by the time you're a senior, and you're better prepared for life and the real world. Take it all in college seniors, and enjoy your last year. Have fun, be crazy, do everything, and go places you've always wanted to go! And lastly, congratulations!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
