Dear Netflix,
Wow, these last few months have been great! Together we have spent many nights huddled in my dorm room. We have laughed together, cried together and explored new places together. You have met my friends, and that is a huge step in our relationship. My mom has spent a lot of time with you are really thinks "you're the one" for me.
Remember that time, we watched movies until 6 a.m. on a Saturday night? Thinking back to that night really makes me miss you, my love. You have introduced me to Shonda Rhimes, who is one of my closest friends to this day. I have learned how to "Get Away With Murder", I know the ins and outs of the White House's latest "Scandal" and I can even perform neurosurgery thanks to "Grey's Anatomy."
When I need a laugh, you update me on all the shenanigans that take place on "New Girl." You have educated me with the most sophisticated "TedTalks." I am thankful for all of the great times, and you will always have a special place in my heart.
But, we need to talk.
My grades suffer because of our intense love affair. My sleep habits—well what sleep habits? I am a poor college student and the $7 a month you cost, can better serve me at Chick-fil-A. You keep emailing me new suggestions of shows to watch, and frankly, I am an independent woman.
I don't need your opinion all of the time, I was doing just fine without you. My friends are sometimes jealous of our relationship, they need me to spend time with them and stop giving it all to you. The point is we need to limit our time together. Please don't think there is another entertainment system. I will not leave you for Hulu. I love you. I just need to focus on me for a while. I know this is hard and you may not understand, but you have many others to love and adore you in the meantime. Farewell, my dear.
Sincerely,
A Heartbroken, GPA suffering, Financially Deprived College Student
