Dear Millenials

An open letter to the Millennial generation.

Dear Millennial’s,

Our generation is characterized by our tech-savvy skills and lack of intrapersonal skills. We suffer from the ability to please the Boomers and obsession with things such as marijuana usage. We are a generation that focuses more on how many Instgram likes we can get, rather than how many people in class can we become friends with instead. We are the generation that is bringing back the Boho glam and the 90’s grunge. We are the generation that is at the point in our lives where we are either parent’s, pregnant, or living out our 20’s happily with out alcohol and drug binges.

Most importantly, we are the generation that can now make a change. We can make the change in this election, in what policies and laws come into place, what peace we bring and what war we bring upon others. Our generation is the change that we want to see in the world. Our job as this generation is to help. The people we see who are homeless, the men and women who are poor in third world countries, your unborn children, and most importantly for yourself. We are young and have the ability to make advancements that no other generation can possibly do. We are important to saving not only our country, but also the Earth.

This is my plea to you, Millennials, to change the world we live. Take the advantages we have of being young, healthy, and innovative and apply them to your life. Go on trips where you help the poor and third world countries. Take the chance and write a letter to your congressman about laws you want changed. Start a march on Washington. Fight. Fight for the things you believe in, and fight for our rights and the dreams we have. Fight to make our lives the best they can be, and for the future generations.

Love,

A fellow Millennial with a desire to change the world

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
