Dear Blackjack road,
We all drive down your well-beaten path. You get us to where we need to go, especially if we live along your many curves.
But we have some issues:
Your many potholes have caused some serious damage to my poor car. I feel like I need a front-end alignment just about every other week. We also need to discuss the fact that there is no consistency to your edges. One minute I'm just driving along pretty straight, and the next I have to swerve over two feet to keep from falling off into a ditch. It's pretty hard to actually stay on you.
I know nobody respects you and they just drive wherever they want- like in the middle of you- but I can't really blame them because, to be honest, we can't really see where you want us to drive. You need some lines in order to keep us between them. We're college students and we need some direction.
And the issues we have when we're driving along you at night... They just multiply. We can't see anything. Your edges become even more blurred and the task of getting home is ten times harder. Should we swerve left to avoid that pothole and ditch or should we swerve right to avoid the oncoming traffic? It seems like we're choosing wrecking or wrecking. There is no good choice.
I guess we just have to accept the fact that our relationship will be love-hate. We love that you get us where we need to go, but we hate that it has to be so difficult. We know it is not your fault, it is only the fault of your caretakers. They don't seem to be doing an effective job of repairing you. So for now, we will continue to swerve left and right our whole way home to avoid your many faults, but we will thank you for getting us there.
Blackjack road, you are dear to our hearts, but we dread having to use you. We hope you get some help soon.
With sincerest concerns,
