I'll admit it: when it comes to relationships ...
I am crazy.
Or at least that's what I've been told these past couple of years. And I'm willing to bet that there are girls out there just like me. We aren't asking to be seen as insane women who need to be checked into a mental facility. Rather we are embracing our personality style as something that is rare and unique. We are crazy, and we are proud. It is who we are, and it's something that only a really special person can handle. So if you are contemplating dating a girl who has a reputation of being crazy, I'm here to help clear the air on some of the traits we hold.
If it's crazy for us to be jealous, then we are crazy ... and jealous.
Jealousy is a monster that can eat a hole in your heart, but in small portions, I believe it to be healthy. Being jealous of other people around your significant other just shows you care. I'm not talking about possessive jealousy, where you can't talk to a single person without us turning into that big purple monster and stomping around the house in a rage. I'm just saying that you should understand that we get jealous because we are afraid to lose you.
If it's crazy for us to want to see you all the time, then call us crazy. But when you call, let us know when you're free next.
We love to see you. Period. There's a reason we fell for you in the first place, so why is wanting to spend time with you so bad? Even if its just for 10 minutes, seeing your face will always brighten our day.
If you think it's crazy for us to ask a lot of questions, we understand. But can you just answer them?
Getting to know you is high on our priority list. It's not to be nosey or creepy, we just want to know more about you. Maybe your twice-removed cousin's new girlfriend's name is somewhat irrelevant, but it won't stop our curiosity. Answering when we ask you what your favorite hobbies, snacks, or movies are is only going to turn out good in your favor when we bring you random gifts.
If it's crazy for us to want to dress up for you, then hand us a straight jacket and our red lipstick.
Selena says it best: "Let me show you how proud I am to be yours." Is it that hard to understand? Wearing a giant t-shirt and no pants is awesome for 90% of the time, but that other 10% is reserved for when we want to feel extra beautiful and show ourselves off for you. It's all for you.
(And partly us, because who doesn't love putting on makeup and high heels?)
If it's crazy for us to be weird around you, tell us something we don't know. Weird is what we aim for.
It is important for us to be ourselves with you because our end goal is to be with you for the rest of our lives, isn't it? If you can't handle our weirdness, quirks, or daily routines, why would we be wasting our time on you? We want someone we can be our complete selves with, and we want someone who can be their complete self around us. It's a win-win situation, right?
