Let's face it, Waco doesn't exactly have a plethora of fun or different date options. There are many hidden gems, however, that everyone seems to overlook when deciding on date night plans. Next time you're considering the same old dinner/movie combo, give one of these fun and unique date nights a shot instead!
The Grape
It amazes me how few people know about The Grape! It's an amazing wine bar and bistro with live music every Thursday and Friday night, half-priced wine bottles every Saturday night and the atmosphere is always perfect for date night. The Grape offers more than 200 wines by the glass, has a new tapas menu and a sake-infused cocktail menu. If that isn't enough to convince you, their Mediterranean Stuffed Tomatoes, Thai Shrimp Lettuce Cups and amazing burgers certainly should!
Lake Waco picnic
It's no secret that Waco has some gorgeous sunsets. So, why not watch the sunset over Lake Waco as you're eating a picnic with your special someone? The view is breathtaking, and it's a less expensive date idea for those of you scared to look at your bank account balance.
Klassy Glass Wine Bar & Bistro
Klassy Glass is conveniently located in downtown Waco on Austin Avenue, right between numerous great bars like Muddle and Austin's. This wine bar has a cool and sophisticated atmosphere, and they offer open bottle Mondays where any glass of wine from their open bottle display is only $5.
Slippery Minnow
I can't emphasize enough how Slippery Minnow is one of Waco's best kept secrets. This place is located on the Lake Waco Marina and is open Thursday-Sunday. It's absolutely awesome. You get to enjoy your food and drinks right on the lake while listening to live music, or participating in karaoke offered every Thursday night from 6-10 p.m. The atmosphere is very laid-back and it's perfect for a more casual date night.
Tehuacana Creek Vineyards
TCV is a family-owned vineyard located right outside of Waco. The vineyard is open on Fridays and Saturdays for tours and wine tastings, and the prices are very reasonable!
Food Truck night on the Brazos
I sometimes find the simplest dates are the most fun. Recently, Waco has been blessed with the arrival of more and more food trucks. If you take a stroll down University Parks Dr, you can find everything from Greek food to tacos to delicious cupcakes! With the food trucks located so closely to the suspension bridge and Brazos river, grab some mouth-watering eats and get ready for a relaxing and beautiful view.
