Now, I'm very new to the amazing show that is Game of Thrones. Like, only-on-season-two new (Don't hate me, I know I'm late to the party). I never thought I'd be sucked in to the popular obsession, but thanks to my boyfriend, I'm somehow hoping to finish over 50 hours of the show in time for the new season on July 16th- thanks babe.

While still a newbie to the show, there is one thing that I already know and that I hope will stay constant- theQUEEN that is Daenerys Targaryen. Just from two seasons, I am amazed that a character like her exists and is such an important part of the show. Not only is she drop-dead gorgeous (#girlcrush), but she's confident, strong, and every other bad-ass adjective that you can even think of. Watching her has made me realize that she is living the epitome of a modern woman's struggles all throughout the show. Here's why Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of Meereen, Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons, is the ultimate role model for women.

1. She realizes that being a woman can be frowned upon, but shoves that into anyone's face who tries to insult her.

2. She doesn't take crap from anyone. Ever. #Slay

3. Although powerful, she is still compassionate. Her heart guides her more often than not.

4. She says what she wants and isn't worried about a man's opinions.

5. She isn't afraid to be honest and never worries about the consequences of it.

6. She does what she has to do in order to be successful. (Uh, eating a horses heart, hello.)

7. She follows her dreams, and chooses how to go about doing so wisely.

8. She knows which battles are worth fighting.

9. And makes dang sure that everyone around her knows it too

10. Finally, she teaches us that no matter what battle you're fighting, you can always win if you're 100% sure of who you are.

So go out and keep sticking it to the jerks who think you're just a pretty face. Daenerys would be proud!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
