Since classes are over for the semester and I am at home for the summer, I figured that little updates on my life would be a change to my regular not so serious content.

Last weekend I spent two days driving home; well my mom drove and I rode in the passenger seat, but that is how I got to spend the beginning of my summer break. When I got home, I needed to complete some homework that was due after the semester ended which still doesn't make sense to me. While finishing that, my cats decided to forgive me for going off to school again and leaving them at home with my family. They "helped" me by snuggling at my feet while I finished doing construction drawings for my studio class and when I needed little breaks, I forced them to cuddle with me.

Tuesday I got to watch my sister play for her high school team because I have been up at school for most of her season. They had a tough loss and a few of the girls were pretty bruised up after the game, but they played the best they could especially with all of the injuries her team has had throughout the season.

I spent most of Wednesday sleeping and resting from all of the travel I did during the weekend since I didn't get the chance to when I got home.

Thursday was the fun day I spent taking care of stuff that I needed to get done. I finally got my license renewed from when I turned 21 and I worked on writing my cover letter and resume for different architectural firms in the area that my mom helped me find the contact information for. Later that day, my sister's soccer team was scheduled to have a game but after they started warming up, thunderstorms came through the area and the game was delayed for a few hours and then cancelled because of all of the lightning.

Friday: I spent most of the day resting because I had a large knot in the muscles on my back so it hurt to move around or even turn my head.

Overall, my first week back went pretty well (besides the knot in my back), but I hope to do more in the upcoming weeks like finding an internship and practicing soccer to keep up my skills over the summer.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
