To every college student out there, welcome to winter break! It’s finally here! We have successfully made it through the treacherous week known as finals week and are still living to tell the story of our triumphant battle. It might have been a rough semester, and for some of us it might have been the best semester thus far, but one thing that is true no matter what is that it’s over.
To every high school senior out there, enjoy the rest of your time. It’s going to fly by and before you know it you’ll be walking across that stage to receive your diploma. Enjoy prom and whatever other traditions your high school has, and enjoy your family and friends when you still get a chance to see them every day. It’s a magical time of the year, and you deserve to celebrate all that you’ve accomplished.
To all the freshmen in college, congrats! You survived your first semester of college! You’ve probably met an incredible amount of people, and have hopefully found a place where you can see yourself prospering for the next three and a half years. This was your first experience with the beasts that are college finals, and you now know what to expect. You did it, and even though the material will probably get more difficult, you will never have the element of surprise again.
To the seniors in college, you are so close to the end. One more semester and you will be off in the real world, either on your own with a job, or pushing yourself to the limits in grad school. You’ve made it all the way, and there is so little time left in your college career. Finish strong,
seniors!
As to all of the sophomores and juniors, another round of finals is in the books. We’re not on the verge of anything crazy happening or of entering or exiting a major highlight of our life, but we still did it. The awkward slump where we’re kind of just going through the motions of college is here, and for that reason I think we deserve the most credit. With levels of powerfully low motivation, we pulled through and, hopefully, made it through to the second half of our respected year. We deserve credit for getting through some of the slump and still killing it.
To everyone, Christmas is finally here. I’ve already watched "Elf" twice and heard “All I Want for Christmas” by Mariah Carey an infinite number of times, so you know that it’s definitely that time of year. Congrats for making it through finals! It’s over. There’s no need to have nightmares about that dreadful final or that horrid paper anymore. It’s all turned in and done, and we can take the month, or however long you have off, to think about what’s really important. Enjoy your time off from the stress and the papers, and enjoy the time with your family and friends. Congrats guys, we survived another semester!
