The first step to fixing any addiction is admitting you have a problem. I will be the first to admit that I have an addiction – to queso. When I say queso, I'm not talking about the literal Spanish translation, though I do love cheese. I mean the creamy, subtly spicy, liquid white gold that pairs perfectly with just about anything. Queso is just so simply delicious. It is absolutely one of the greatest delicacies in this world, and I believe it is starting to get the recognition it deserves. I have compiled a list of confessions that I, along with many other queso-holics, know to be too true.
1. There is never a time when I'm not thinking about queso.
It's so much more than a craving. It's an emotional connection.
2. No money? No problem! Chips and queso is a perfectly acceptable meal.
That's my creed doe. I'm just living my queso filled life with no ragrets.
3. Sometimes I have dreams about eating queso. I never want to wake up from those dreams.
Please, just five more minutes.
4. If it has queso on it, there is a 98.4 percent chance I will eat it.
I suddenly turn into a vacuum when I see queso. I can't even explain it.
5. Friend/relative: "Where do you want to go eat for–" Me: "Mexican! Please, a Mexican restaurant. I need queso."
6. I have a (secret) Pinterest board, just for different queso recipes.
Believe it or not, some of these recipes are better than restaurant queso.
7. My fridge and pantry stay stocked with chips and queso.
I'm just always hungry and I'm not even sorry about it. Queso is the best snack ever, so by staying stocked, I'm really doing everyone else a favor.
8. My boyfriend gives me queso instead of flowers to show his affection.
This is when you know it's bad. But this is also when I knew the love was real.
9. If I go more than two days without eating queso, I have literal withdrawals.
10. I look forward to football season because nachos.
And no, I'm not sharing them. Sorry.
