Contrary to popular belief, being lazy is not an easy task but there are a select few brave souls who have taken on the challenge to living the lazy bum life. I am proudly part of this group. Some find it hard to sit and watch movies all day, I am not one of those people, so if you’re going to hang out with me, there are a few ground rules that you need to know.
1. I am ALWAYS down to do nothing.
Sure, I do enjoy the occasional and spontaneous sky diving or random road trip, but my spontaneity only comes in waves and between those spontaneous waves, I like to do absolutely nothing.
2. A movie day is never a bad thing.
As a lazy bum, I’m also a huge movie lover. Want to watch a Disney marathon? I’m your girl. Feeling like watching sappy romance movies for hours on end? Call me up. In the mood to watch horror movies all weekend long? Count me in. I like movies but I love movie marathons.
3. I have no shame in staying in my pajamas all day long.
Those people who get up, dress up, and show up definitely won’t understand this one but I tend to thrive in my pajamas. It’s not rare to see me in the same clothes from Thursday night until Saturday morning. If you’re needing a lazy weekend but are having a hard time getting yourself to commit, I will gladly be your lazy bum cheerleader.
4. If you make me choose between Netflix or you, I’ll choose Netflix.
I don’t do well with ultimatums, especially when they invade my plans to do nothing, so know that if you come to me on my day of doing nothing and ask me to do something, I will most likely tell you no and my reasoning will be because “I don’t want to” and I really don’t care if you get mad at me.
5. Nap time is essential. My social life, or lack thereof, can wait.
Don’t argue with me on this. If you’ve ever had a nap at two in the afternoon after a long day of being around humans, you know how magical this event is. Afternoon naps are my saving grace so do NOT plan an event during this time or expect me to venture out into the world of sunshine and humans because chances are, you won’t see me.
These five basic steps should help you when experiencing the world of lazy bums but if you’re ever in doubt of what to do with us, the best option would be to sit down, put in a movie, make some popcorn, and do absolutely nothing for the rest of the day.
