Confessions Of A College Student
Total Sorority Move

I have a confession to make. I don’t ever want to leave college. Like ever. College has been one of the greatest times of my life and I don’t want that to ever go away. I’m not really a fan of change and when I graduate, I’m sure a classic panic attack will set in. I am a currently a junior in college and never thought I would make it to college. All my life I had trouble understanding material I learned in school. I was always one step behind everyone in my classes. I thought of myself as a failure, but no one would ever know because I wouldn’t show it. A lot of the time I wanted to give up, but knew I couldn’t and I had to push through in order to achieve all the things I dreamed for my future.

Now, looking back on all those hardships it has made me the person I am today. A confident, strong, women who is driven to be a successful adult. So far being in college has taught me so much about myself in such a short amount of time.

1. This is the only time you will be guaranteed to live with your best friends. As you grow up and out of college everyone goes there separate ways, maybe to move back in with your parents or to grad school. It’s hard to figure out schedules, so embrace the time you have with them now.

2. We realize how messy or how type A we are. The things we find out about ourselves without our parents around are exactly how we are and will be for the rest of our lives.

3. Those 8 a.m. and 5 o’clock block classes may or may not be the worst things in the entire world, but 9 to 5 jobs don’t sound to hot either.

4. You learn whom you can and change not trust, especially when going out. It is always good to have the mom of your friend group out with you to save you from bad decisions.

5. You learn that you have to do things yourself in order to learn from them.Your friends can talk your ear off about how you shouldn’t do something or someone, but you most likely won’t listen to them until you find out for yourself.

6. You will most likely cry a lot, whether from drinking or from heartbreak.

7. As a college student you finally realize the phrase your parents have ingrained in your head; money doesn’t grow on trees. Our parents can’t fund our alcohol consumption forever. If we want to have money when we are out of college to travel around the world or eat Chick-Fil-A every night, we're going to need to stop opening up tabs at the bar and save it in our bank accounts.

Since being in college, I have found myself and found my best friends for life. The memories I have created with them will last a lifetime and I can’t imagine what life would be like without them. For everyone in college, embrace every moment you create. You only have four years, make sure to never take them for granted.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
