Tuesday, June 21st, fans piled into Madison Square Garden to witness pure talent also known as Ellie Goulding.
Goulding finished off her the North American leg of her Delirium World Tour by playing a packed show at the infamous Madison Square Garden. With her electric pop sound, Goulding filled MSG with energy and exhilaration.
Opening with 'Intro (Delirium)' and moving straight into 'Aftertaste', from her latest album 'Delirium', for her entrance, Goulding knows how to use the stage to her advantage. Her synthpop songs resulted in nothing but moving (with the exception to the few acoustic songs she performed). Goulding is constantly dancing, whether it's improvised or choreographed with backup dancers, her consistent motion, caused the crowed to constantly be on their feet moving with her.
Along with her constant dancing and energy, her elaborate set design added excitement to the show. Her set design included multiple screens, curtains and pyrotechnics. Once her set began, videos of her played throughout the screens and Goulding emerged from behind two dropping curtains. From that moment on, there was not a dull moment in her set.
Throughout her 23 song set, along with a 2 song encore, Goulding covered her most popular songs such as 'Love Me Like You Do', 'Burn', and 'On My Mind', as well as other songs such as 'Goodness Gracious', 'Holding On For Life' and 'Lost and Found'. Before 'Burn', Goulding preached about how we live life through the screens of our phones and asked everyone to put them away to just live in the moment. "When you get home and someone asks how was the concert can I see pictures or a video, you say no. You have to enjoy it for yourself."
Besides her unique vocals and incredible stage presence, Goulding also contributes to her show by performing on multiple instruments. From acoustic guitar for her song 'Devotion' to an electric guitar during 'Figure 8' and drums during 'Aftertaste', she does it all.
Ellie Goulding is an amazing, highly energetic performer and you can feel her energy and excitement throughout the entire show. Her voice is amazing and sounds almost identical to her recorded songs. If you're looking for a concert with an amazing set, full of energy and killer vocals, an Ellie Goulding concert is definitely one for you.
