Imagine a world with humans that walk around smiling at each other even when they’re being s*** on.
Imagine teenage girls not hating each other because they love the same boy.
Imagine people getting over bad news and keeping their heads held high as they pass everyone they see.
I think everyone who has had a taste of what life can throw at you understands that it isn't always easy being human.
There are responsibilities and expectations. There are dark days and days of redemption.
Everyone has a story to be told, as cliche as it sounds, and most people are in the same spot in life as you are. Most people can relate to each other even if it isn’t shown, but most people don’t care to know that.
However, knowing that another human can relate to you just might save you, even if it’s just on one bad day.
Today, society has come to unnecessary judgments and misconceptions of people we meet or only see walking by. We do not all know each other, and frankly, that should not determine if you are going to be kind to someone or not.
If you are being rude to a stranger, or even a friend, you are going out of your way to make someone feel low whether you realize it or not. The cashier doesn’t make the prices in the store, so stop giving her attitude. The pizza man did not make your pizza so give him a tip no matter what. The girl or guy you don’t like for a daft reason still deserves politeness.
I instantly admire a stranger who will say hello to me, ask me how I am, or even open a door for me. Everyone could live a little more carefree if there were more manners and respect spread around.
Kindness should be a natural way of life, not something that needs to be told to you or hard to do. Future generations will lead by your example so be dignifying.
If you’re ever wondering how you can be a better person, start by using your time to be more optimistic because it will rub off on other people. If it doesn’t, then they are lost and don’t understand that bad days can have good in them, too.
A bad day could always have a kind person somewhere along the way. It is what’s inside your soul and your heart that truly matters. Let kindness be there.
Your reactions tell a lot about you as a person so keep that in mind the next time you talk to your classmates, a co-worker, or someone that needs your help. They are human and so are you. There is nothing cool or superior about being mean to another.
It could make a stranger’s entire day if you smile at them, so try it. They say killing with kindness is the best revenge, so try it. Be kind. Keep being kind, even to those who aren’t kind back.
