Anyone reading this probably is wondering what I mean when I say coming home from home. Here it is: Mississippi State is starting to become my home. After just one semester here, I can easily say I now have two homes. There is my home in Alabama where I am thankful to have grown up and there is now a home for me in Starkville, Mississippi here at Mississippi State where I am continuing to grow as a person.
Winter break flew by. But it was filled with great times spent with people important to me that are not here along with me on my college journey. Not seeing the people you used to frequently see makes the time spent together have such a deeper meaning as well as exposes you to the people you want to always keep close to you.
Being back at Mississippi State now has made me realize how much I truly love this place. Everything has not always gone according to the plans I envisioned for myself. But, oh how I am so grateful for that. Because of it, I have found new interests as well as reevaluated ideas I once could not picture myself pursuing.Another aspect of my great new home is my new found friends. They are the ones who make it easier to be living in another state. Of course, when choosing MSU I knew I would face this difficulty of seeing family way less, but now after finding great friends, it feels as if I have found another family.
I hope my second semester is filled with more amazing memories at my wonderful newfound home.
