Today, former FBI Director James Comey testified at the Senate Intelligence committee. He made a testimony on what did, or did not happen, between himself and President Donald Trump.
I, like millions of Americans watching nationwide, do not know what was really said between the two men.
But I do smell a rat.
For one thing, this testimony has definitely made me call Donald Trump's honesty into question. Even before becoming Commander in Chief of the United States of America, he was less than forth-coming and straightforward in his business dealings - particularly in his investments abroad. For example, one of his major campaign incentives was that he intended to bring back American jobs. Interesting idea, when President Trump himself had a line of Men's Ties that were being made in China by workers who were being treated like slaves, and not being paid much more than a slave. And then for those cheaply-made, foreign ties to be placed right back on the shelves of high-end stores back in America? Hm.
Secondly, I am still not over President Trump's refusal to disclose his true tax returns, after an extremely persistent campaign to have former President Obama to reveal his birth certificate. Now, I don't know about anyone else, but I was raised by the proverb, "What is good for the goose is good for the gander.", meaning that what's good for one person is good for another. That we are all equal, and thus we should be held to the same standard. The fact that Donald Trump has been ducking and dodging important issues that could be crucial to our nations safety leaves me, as a tax-paying citizen, in a bit of a quandary.
There would had not have been a need for a secret meeting with Comey (or to make a request of unwavering loyalty - not honesty - to the President himself) if there was no validity to Trump's relationship and back-door dealings with Russia. Until the truth, and nothing but the truth, rears it's proverbial head, how are we to trust our government? As I always say, history tends to repeat itself. Could this be another Watergate?
All of this leads me back to my original question... Do you find former FBI Director Comey's testimony reliable? Who do you trust?
