“He’s angry, I can see it on his face. His posture is rigid and his hands are fisted, ready to fight. His feelings may be present but his mind is somewhere else, someplace far. Anger doesn’t suit his face with his dusty green eyes and sand brown hair. Stop being angry, tell me what’s wrong”. Those were the thoughts racing through Luna’s mind as she traveled with her stone-like companion.
Luna was so far away from friends and family but it was for the best. Under the recommendation from her therapist, Luna’s parents pushed her to be evaluated for this new treatment program. To everyone’s relief, she was accepted into the program and was identified as a Loyalist.
"Welcome to Stride. We hope you end up loving yourself after your treatment".
It appeared that both passengers had come out of their trances upon their arrival to the treatment center. Luna had shyly tucked her medium length raven hair behind her ear and exited the automobile. The transparent ten story glass building was there to encourage transparency to everyone being treated. If everyone can see inside every room and floor then everyone should be transparent of themselves.
However, Luna had caught a glimpse of someone on a high floor peering out at her. At the angle she was at, there was no way to tell who the observer was but only that they were watching. Ushered into the glass building, there the two traveling companions were greeted with the director of the company.
A vibrant smile was sprawled across his face as the director gave his introduction; " Welcome to Stride. I'm Doctor Naranjo and I can't wait for the treatment program to get started. We have selected a variety of contestants who come from different parts of the country and the diversity ranges from race, gender, family income, lifestyle, personalities, interests, and hobbies. Luckily for you, the evaluations have determined that you are meant to be here. The two of you are the last to arrive and I'm sure you both are tired from your long travels so you should go settle into your rooms before dinner. Tomorrow starts the first day of the treatment program and I want everyone to be at their best so we can appreciate your best!". After the verbose introduction, the director turned on his heels and made his way into the glass elevator. Located in the center of the building, the director waved at them during his ascension to someplace higher up in the building.
Both tenants were led into the elevator by two staff members and they all got off on the fifth floor. The male staff member led Ryan down the left corridor of the elevator while Luna followed behind the female worker who took a right.
Luna was greeted with a translucent glass door with the number six embossed into the glass. She reached for the handle and opened the door to her bedroom where she would be staying until the treatment ended.
