Colleges Majors As Songs
Start writing a post

Every college major is unique, and there are some songs that go along with why people chose that major, what that major is about, or just represent the major well. Read to find what song your major is!

1. Psychology- In My Feelings by Drake

My roommate is a psych major and she is a literal counselor to me. She sits me down and has me talk about everything. She always has me in my feelings.

Keke, leave me alone.

2. English- Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield

This one is pretty self-explanatory but lots of times I always feel like I'm staring at the blank page before me as a writer, so I don't know how English majors do it.

3. Astronomy- E.T. by Katy Perry

So have y'all found aliens yet?

4. Communications- Everybody Talks by Neon Trees

Communications- the major no one ever knows about. Everyone talks and we figure out the best ways to communicate. There ya go.

Love, a Com major

5. Biology- DNA by Kendrick Lamar

To like bio, I think you need that gene in your DNA.

6. Engineering- Ignition by R Kelly

This is funny, right?

7. Art- Hall of Fame by The Script ft. will.i.am.

Art majors- don't let people tell you your major won't get you a job. Laugh when you're the next Picasso.

8. Accounting- Dinero by Jennifer Lopez ft. DJ Khalid & Cardi B

A major about money that makes a lot of money.

9. Dance- I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack

That's all they wanna do. Ever.

"But your voice is too loud".

Yep that sums up kids to me.

"I want to be famous" - cute girl on vine

12. History- Somebody I Used to Know by Gotye ft. Kimbra

A major about the study of dead people. Fun.

Also just another funny one, but it makes sense.

Who run the world. Girls.

You've probably not heard this song before, but give it a listen. The words are basically anything computer related. Ever.

16. Business- Poker Face by Lady Gaga

Keep a straight face and make that money.

17. Law- Middle by Zedd & Grey, ft. Maren Morris

Hey judge, just meet me in the middle and lets do a plea deal.

18. Math- 1 + 1 by Beyoncé

Perfect excuse to insert one of Queen B's greatest under-appreciated songs.

19. Exercise Science- Livin' on a Prayer by Bon Jovi

Send up a quick one for our friends in this major. Bless yalls hearts.

20. Architecture- Lego House by Ed Sheeran

The love for it had to come from somewhere. Possibly playing with Legos as a kid?

21. Music- Bang Dem Sticks by Megan Trainer

Forget football players. Get me a boy who can sing and play the guitar.

22. Hospitality & Tourism- Hotel California by The Eagles

Also another funny/self-explanatory one.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
