After one long semester, every college kid is excited to go home to rest, rejuvenate and catch up on all those Netflix shows that we started when we could procrastinate and not feel bad earlier in the year. I can't wait to sleep in my bed, see my pet, hang out with friends and family and not feel bad about not doing work because there isn't any to do! While this break is much needed, there are certain things I will miss when I am home for an entire month.
1. My friends
Going from spending every waking moment with a group of people to not seeing them for an entire month is going to be difficult and definitely a little weird. Like what do you mean I can't walk down the hallway and be at my best friend's room?!? I have to take a plane to see them or drive an hour?!? That will definitely be rough.
2. Being independent
There is a certain independence that comes with being a college student. I can do whatever I want, when I want and there is no one to tell me that I probably shouldn't stay up until three in the morning watching vines.
3. Eating on my own schedule
Going along with being independent, that means I choose when I want to eat. At home, I eat when dinner is ready but at school, I can eat as early or as late as I want since I am on my own schedule. Plus, I get to pick what I eat which is another perk of school, even if the food is only sub-par.
4. Having a roommate
After spending four-ish months sharing a room, it will be weird going back to my own room and not having someone else there with me.
5. Basketball games
Instead of getting to be there in person, I will have to watch the number one basketball team in the country from my T.V. #GOCATS
6. The campus
Villanova is a beautiful campus and I'll miss walking around, taking in the sights.
7. CampCo
Everyone's favorite late night food place is going to be greatly missed over break. How can I go a month without Zilly fries?!
8. My bed
My bed at school is wayyyyyyy more comfortable than my bed at home so even though I'll be in a bigger bed, it won't be the same.
9. Going out
The weekends are always an adventure and I'll miss the spontaneous plans that my friends and I end up making last minute.
10. Having options
Villanova is in close proximity to high end shopping like the King of Prussia mall or Suburban Square, has the best food places lining the Main Line down Lancaster and is just a 30 minute train ride from Philly. I love having everything I could ever need right next door, which is something I don't get at home.
