Friendsgiving has become popular in colleges all over the U.S..Friends gather to celebrate before exams hit, a last hooray of the semester. It also gives students a much better alternative to listening to grandma ask you for the billionth time when your going to get married. But what do you bring?, when do you show up?, and how do you host? Thanksgiving has become one of my favorite holidays, and this year will be my second time hosting my friends. I have learned a few lessons along the way and I think there are some guidelines to follow.
1. Feel Free to Celebrate like Your Favorite Characters
Wether you enjoy dancing around with the turkey on your head or laughing at your friend as he gets slapped, just remember, you're there for fun, just like Ross, Rachel, Ted, and Marshall. You also can't have this much fun at your parents house.
2. Be the Hostess With the Mostess
As the hostess you have to be welcoming to your guests, make the turkey, and set the table. you should arrange for all your friends to bring something. This keeps the food cheap for everyone, as we are all on college budgets.
3. Bring Food Or Risk There Only Being Turkey
There will be no meal, only Turkey, if you forget to bring your food. Also don't try to use the hostesses kitchen. Take your time and give it the good old college try before you get to the Hostess's house.
4. Know Your Audience
If you have friends who are vegans or vegetarians don't forget about them. Make sure there will be something there they can eat, and that it's not just one thing.
5. Be Prepared
Know how much food you need and who is coming. If you aren't sure how much you need over cook because.... left overs.
6. Enjoy Thanksgiving With Your Friends
These are memories you won't want to forget. So cheers! Eat good food, laugh, and have a good time. Just don't tell your parents that you like this Thanksgiving more!
