10 College Students Braved The Scariest Question Of All 'What's Your Biggest Fear?'

Fear is a daunting subject. Many of us have fears ranging from "spiders" all the way down to "being alone". Our fears stem from different aspects of life and every fear could have some deep root of hurt at the bottom of it. Saying our fears out loud might not be the most fun, but sometimes just acknowledging them could bring us to a place of facing them.

No matter what age you are, odds are you have something that scares you, even if that is just a little.

Whether this is the monster under the bed, never being content, or getting hurt in some way, we all have em'. In my 2 years as an adult, I've noticed that these fears can influence our lives in so many ways!

That is why I asked a few of my peers what their biggest fears were. Give these fears a read and see if you realize the same thing that I did.

1. Katryna Eastwood (20 years old)

"Being Forgotten and then my other one would be loving someone so much and they never love you back, oh and bio terrorism."

2. Ally Richmond (19 years old)

"I'm afraid of so many things ummm, being abandoned or feeling emotionally alone...being left behind"

3. Kori Grueter (20 years old)

"Not being able to have children"

4. Noelle Soucek (19 years old)

"Infertility. Being raped. The dentist. Ummmm, not reaching contentment with my life, lots of things."

5. Levi Whitehead (20 years old)

"My biggest fear is that one day I'll be 30 or something or around that age and be content with life and be making a lot of money and overall happy and then God will be like 'hey I am changing everything, this is not what I have for your life'."

6. Austin Johns (18 years old)

"My biggest fear is lack of authentic friendships. As silly as it sounds, I couldn't stand to do it alone. God made me an extremely extroverted person and sometimes there's an irrational fear that I won't have friends one day. Of course, I know that would never happen but that's my biggest fear."

7. Chris Baker (22 years old)

"I'd have to say that one of my biggest fears is the fear of failure. With the way I was raised, my parents expected the best out of me no matter what, so it grew into a fear of what might happen if I didn't always succeed. "

8. Vanessa Chinen (20 years old)

"My biggest fear is the future because I have so many desires and passions that I want to pursue but I am so afraid that the world is going to change that for me. I want to do good and I want to glorify God and let him use me as an instrument but I am fearful that I will let the world ruin things and destruct my future."

9. Max Curry (19 years old)

"My biggest fear is not being enough or more specifically, not being able to fulfill who God has called me to be."

10. Tony Barrera (20 years old)

"My biggest fear it loneliness, not having people and relying on people too much."

After asking people about their fears, I spotted one common thread through them all and that is the future. Whether it be, our future spouse, our future friendships, or just the change the future could hold, we all have this underlying fear of what is to come.

But even more importantly, asking people this taught me that NONE of us are alone in our fears.

And that my friends, is fairly comforting. If you are someone who fears what is to come, know that you are not alone in that and that there are people out there just like you coming from all different walks of life wondering what the future holds.

To anyone else fearful of the unknown, or afraid of not being enough in this crazy world, we are in this together. I don't necessarily know where I am headed in life and based on these responses, a lot of us don't. Don't let fear win.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
