Spending weeks back at home after spending months away at school reveals so many differences in the day to day life of college kids.

From sharing a dorm room and bathroom, to eating based on meal swipes, and to everything in between, life at college is completely different to being back at home. It's the little things during every day life that reveal these huge differences!

1. Not having to wear shower shoes

The sweet relief of showering in a clean shower and not having to wear those rubber flip flops is one of the biggest perks of coming home from school.

2. Getting to be in your own room...on your own

Going from sharing a room with other people every day and then getting to sleep in your own room is so strange.

3. Getting to sleep past those annoying alarms for early classes

Every college student home for the holidays will do one thing- sleep as much as possible. Having no classes to rush to means you have to spend as much time as possible in bed.

4. Seeing people from high school that you never thought you would see again in random places

Was the last time I spoke to that person four years ago in my high school biology class? Yes. And did I just see them in the supermarket up the street from my house? Yes. And now I don't know how to process that information.

5. Having home cooked meals instead of campus food

For as amazing as it is to have home cooked meals with the family, it will be so much harder to go back to the same old campus foods and salad bar...just enjoying the good food while I can.

6. Seeing family and old friends in person instead of through FaceTime

So many students see their parents and hometown friends only via FaceTime for months straight...now we don't have to!

7. Not needing a student ID card to go everywhere

At school you have to swipe in to your dorm building, and your dorm room, and the dining halls, and certain offices, etc. There's no need for that at home!

8. Having to use real money instead of meal swipes, points, etc.

Just like the ID card swiping to get into places, that's how most college kids buy everything and get food. Now going out to eat means using real money instead of the swipes and points you have left on your card.

9. Realizing after a couple of days how much you miss your college friends

Of course going home for break means serious amounts of family time, and catching up with old friends. But that also means not getting to be with the friends you spend every day with at school.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
