The semester is beginning to wind down, summer break and finals are right around the corner. And things are definitely beginning to get a lot more stressful as professors are sending more work your way with what seems like little to no time to do it. But guys, it's crunch time. Time to get those grades in order which means doing extra credit, staying up a little later at night and sacrificing some of your 'social time' because we're all shooting for that 4.0.
I'm writing to motivate you all to keep pushing. Remind yourself of your ultimate goals and what you're striving for as you're still up writing that paper at 3 A.M. Remind yourself of the hard work you've done thus far to even get you up to this point. Plan ahead and ensure that you are staying on top of important dates for all of your classes. You don't want to run into any surprises these last couple of weeks. Also, can we not procrastinate? Yes, I know. It's easier said than done but it is essential to leave procrastination at the door. Time management is a major part of this. Ensure that that you are utilizing your free time to be doing something semi-productive (watching your favorite series on Netflix doesn't count). Include some me time in your schedule as well because taking time for yourself is going to keep you sane.
Don't stress yourself out either. If you start feeling overwhelmed, take a step back from it all. Go to the gym, call up your best friend, or now is the time when you have my permission to watch one episode of that series you've been meaning to get back to (I said one, not four!). Come back refocused and ready to tackle that project. Imagine yourself in the summer sun as you're writing that 10-page paper that's due tomorrow (hopefully, that's not your situation). Fantasize about being at that awesome internship you just received for the summer or that study abroad trip that is going to take you halfway across the globe.
Whatever it is, use it is as a constant reminder that you didn't get this far by procrastinating or binge watching movies. Your motivation and determination got you here and that's what's going to keep you going these next couple of weeks. I hope my letter has encouraged you in some way. Honestly, I have even encouraged myself to get started on that paper that's due tomorrow at midnight (I'm kidding. . . or am I?). Seriously, finish this semester strong and stay focused on your goals!
