Before going to college, everyone puts their input in about college and how it's going to be. Everyone treats it like it is so scary, and you should never go. There are also some social aspects about college that people talk about, too. Well, college isn't what everyone says it is. Here are 7 misconceptions everyone has about college.

1. Everyone parties all the time.

This couldn't be farther from the truth. Not everyone parties, and most people can't even get into the good parties unless they know people. Not everyone drinks nor does everyone smoke. Plus, there usually aren't parties every night of the week (at least not any good ones). Of course around Homecoming and other big events, things change, but it isn't an every day thing. So if you don't party or drink, don't worry. You'll be fine.

2. You'll only eat Ramen Noodles.

I'm a junior in college, and I've never had or purchased Ramen the entire time I've been in college. My roommates and friends may have done it a few times, but most people eat at the dining halls or make something like Mac n Cheese in the microwave.

3. You won't be able to function without coffee.

Not the case at all. I know plenty of people who don't ever drink coffee. Will there be some days when you might need it? Sure, but it won't be all the time unless you're staying up later than you should be.

4. Your professors will never know who you are.

This one kind of depends on the school you go to, but almost all of my professors have learned my name. They even get to know your name if you go to talk to them before, after, or outside of class. Professors like talking to their students and getting to know them, so don't be shy.

5. Everyone is broke.

Most of us? Sure, but sometimes we have enough to go do something small like have a cheap dinner with friends or even go bowling or something like that. Not all of us has only cents in our bank accounts.

6. You need to spend a ridiculous amount of time studying.

It depends on the class and how much you're paying attention in class. I've had some classes where I didn't need to study at all, and others that I needed to spend hours studying for the tests. You'll learn this as you go.

7. The only way you can get work done is by pulling all-nighters.

I think I've only done this once or twice, and it was because I didn't plan ahead. I didn't realized how much time I needed to get the work done. This happens to more people than others, but it isn't always the case. Plan ahead, and you will be fine.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
