Ice cream makes everything better.

Summer is in full swing, which means the happiest day of the year has also finally arrived - National Ice Cream Day! After only the most extensive analysis of the complexities of flavoring ice cream, I have determined each flavor's unique college major counterpart. Grab a spoon and dig in!

1. Chocolate - Communications

Although of course still delicious, this one is pretty basic. Both win over the victims of indecision, as it is the perfect combo between fun and serious (as serious as ice cream can be, anyways).

2. Mint Chip - Business

This extra chilly ice cream definitely has the "taking care of business" attitude to it. Almost as cold as the heart of your accounting professor, mint chip summarizes the trials of being a business major.

This refreshing flavor gets you ready for a day at the office and the chocolate chips serve as a reminder that there's always perks to choosing a major in the business field, no matter how many times you have to bring your boss coffee before you can sit in on real department meetings.

3. Cookies n' Cream - Education

Inspired by kids' favorite snack time sandwich cookie, cookies n' cream screams education. Well, that and the fact that there's no Goldfish-flavored ice cream.

4. Pistachio - Engineering

Who would have ever thought of devoting an entire ice cream flavor to a green nut? Engineers know how to think outside the box and come up with totally new – and delicious – creations.

Pistachio isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but for the truly devoted students and ice cream lovers, it is an inspired addition to the freezer.

5. Coffee - Pharmacy

Anyone who has taken Organic Chemistry knows this is a match made in heaven. Pretty self-explanatory here.

6. Cookie Dough - English

Combining two desserts into one has never tasted so delicious. Basically, whoever invented this flavor was a creative genius - almost as creative as English majors, in fact. If you're as unfortunate as me, you grew up under a strict no raw cookie dough policy that made the discovery of cookie dough ice cream our family's saving grace.

Just like how eating cookie dough may have been discouraged in some households, majoring in English is usually not taken seriously or discouraged by friends and family, despite it being a perfectly delicious and applicable major.

7. Butter Pecan - Psychology

Almost as complex as the human mind, this smooth, creamy, relaxing flavor is perfect for eating away your feelings - and then, preferably, sharing them with a therapist. As a psychology major, your passion tends to be trying to comfort and understand people - and of course, dealing with the occasional nut.

8. Strawberry - Performing Arts

On the surface, people dismiss strawberry ice cream and fail to give it the fame it deserves even though on the inside it is made up of hard work and talent. Strawberry is fun and sweet, but also takes itself seriously - it is the most popular fruit flavored ice cream, after all. In all the dull whites and browns of ice cream, strawberry adds some color to the selection.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
