Every major has a stereotype attached to it, in the same way that each "Gossip Girl" character has their own distinct personality. Coincidentally, most of these characteristics overlap.
1. Business/Management - Chuck Bass
2. Political Science - Blair Waldorf
Political science majors don't have opinions because their opinions are facts. Your local Blair knows who she is and what she wants, and won't stop at anything to get it. This will come in handy one day when they're taking on courtrooms, seeking government jobs, and expressing their strong opinions, even when they aren't exactly invited.
3. English/Literature - Dan Humphrey
To no surprise, Lonely Boy perfectly embodies your typical english major. They usually stand out from the crowd (and in Dan's case, even write a novel about their exclusion) dream of publications their entire life. They value books almost just as much as friends and most likely will correct your grammar over text.
4. Undecided - Nate Archibald
Like most undecided students, Nate isn't in a rush to decide his fate. Nates are much more focused on discovering who they are, rather than their future careers. They aren't in a rush to make any major decisions.
5. Journalism - Serena Van Der Woodsen
Serena has a heart for headlines, similar to your typical journalism major. With the help of her convincing nature and networking connections, she can make anything, even her small personal column, appealing. Her passion for news may explain her pages of Gossip Girl submissions and her interest in running it for a short time.
6. Education - Vanessa Abrams
The Vanessas of the world are just a tad more patient and empathetic than the rest of us. Education majors have to judge others for their qualities, rather than their property, and are always inclined to give second chances.
7. Fashion - Jenny Humphrey
Fashion majors are unique and proud, much like Little J. Their best friend is their sewing machine, and seem to become more quirky as the semesters go on. They refuse to conform to a conventional lifestyle, and, just like Jenny, are a fashion icon to those around them.
8. Psychology - Eric Van Der Woodsen
Psychology majors have a passion for understanding the brain and mental health, not unlike Eric. Even when he may be overstepping his boundaries, he always has everyone's best interest at heart. He's pretty much the official confidante of the Upper East Side.
9. Criminal Justice - Georgina Sparks
Criminal justice majors seek to understand those who do wrong and to serve them justice. Though Georgina might have some unconventional methods, she puts her scheming skills to good use (sometimes).
10. Hospitality - Dorota
Dorota pours her heart and soul into taking care of Blair, no matter how demanding that may be. Likewise, Hospitality majors focus on the comfort of their guests and using their management skills efficiently.
11. Public Relations - Lily Rhodes/Mueller/Bass/Humphrey
Lily is all about appearances. Even when it may not be the most ethical decision, she will do anything to make her family and her work appear squeaky clean. Like a public relations major, Lily excels in the world of media and event planning and will go to great lengths to preserve her pristine reputation.
12. Philosophy - Rufus Humphrey
There is no one better at answering complicated, life-changing questions than Rufus. He is the go-to for life advice and understands how the world works just a little better than anyone else. Like a philosophy major, he is independent, creative, and open minded. Similar to Rufus's fleeting, risky career as a musician, philosophy majors are more prepared than anyone else to answer the question "What will you do with a philosophy major?"
13. College Drop Out - Carter Baizen
Most likely, everyone knows a Carter. These kids have always been a little different from the crowd and have prided themselves on that fact. Their college experience was likely initially coerced by their overbearing parents. They boast that education cannot be bought, and believe that intellect is gained through experiencing the world, rather than experiencing the inside of a lecture hall.
