For those of you that are like me, you understand that getting ready for class in the morning is about as difficult as anything. Sleep is a very precious thing and is often hard to come by. This is why we girls get up at the last possible second and plan on taking as little time as possible to get ready. But, we all know, we can't look like we just rolled out of bed. We have to look halfway decent. Here are my tips for how to get ready in 10 minutes or less and not look like you just got in a fight with your coffee machine.
1. Moisturizing facial cleanser- This is a very good idea to invest in. By getting a facial cleanser that emphasizes moisturizing, you can often skip the moisturizer step. However, if you have dry skin, I recommend still using a moisturizer in addition to this. If you're more on the oily/combination side, you can skip moisturizer
2. Tinted moisturizer/BB Cream/Concealer- Now comes the makeup steps. If you choose not to wear makeup to class, you can just close out this article now. However, if you like wearing makeup, press on my friend. For those girls who like a bit more coverage, I recommend a tinted moisturizer or BB cream (personal fave- Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream). If you can get away with not a ton of coverage, I recommend just a really good concealer on the areas you need it most (personal fave- Nars Creamy Concealer and Makeup For Ever Full Coverage concealer)
3. Tinted face powder- if you feel like you need more coverage, or you have oily skin like me, you can apply a tinted face powder. If you think tinted moisturizer or BB cream is enough coverage, you can skip this step. I recommend Maybelline Dream Wonder powder.
4. Cheek/lip tint- multi-use products will SAVE. YOUR. LIFE. Cheek/lip tints are just this kind of product. It's one product that works for two different areas of your face. I recommend Benefit's Lollitint or Posietint. If you're on a budget, using a lipstick as blush works just the same way.
5. Tinted lip balm- if you are rosy cheeked like me and don't feel the need to use blush every day, you can just go for a tinted lip balm. This way you still get some color while getting moisture at the same time. I recommend Revlon Colorstay lip butter or Fresh tinted lip balm.
6. Mascara- Mascara can make or break your beauty routine. If you do anything to your eyes, always use mascara. This can be the difference between "dead eyes" and "fresh as a daisy". Try to go for a mascara that will give you volume, not length. The volumizing mascara will make your lashes look fuller and thicker. When applying, wiggle the brush at the base of your lashes and keep wiggling as you pull the wand towards the tip of your lashes. This will abandon the need for eyeliner, thus meaning you can skip eyeliner. Covergirl Lash Blast (in the orange tube!) is a favorite of mine. I also recommend waterproof formulas to keep from any fall out or smudging.
7. Dry shampoo- dry shampoo is a gift from God. It can take your look from greasy and unappealing to fresh out of the shower in a few minutes. It is a lazy girl's new best friend. My ALL TIME FAVORITE dry shampoo is Dove Refresh + Care Dry Shampoo (it smells AMAZING!!!!!!!)
And there you have it! Quick, easy, and you're out the door just in time to NOT be late to class!!
