College Explained By "New Girl"

When you have to give yourself a pep talk for the first week back.

The moment you start to regret that 8:30 a.m. class.

When all the back-to-school actives start and you get all the free snacks.

After your last class of the week is dismissed.

Any time you're asked about your diet regiment during the semester.

When you're trying not to fall asleep and the professor calls on you unexpectedly.

After your friend asks you if you want to go shopping but your bank account says "no."

When you decide to skip class to finish season eight of "Grey's Anatomy."

When it's 11 p.m. and you forgot that you have a five-page paper due in an hour.

The moment you realize you've already changed your major three times and still have no idea what you want to do.

When your mom calls you on the weekend and asks if you're still in bed.

The moment you realize you've been binge watching "SVU" for six hours straight and you need to justify it to yourself.

When you only have a month left in the semester and your professors keep assigning papers.

When you've been studying all day with no end in sight.

When your professor says that your final project is worth 30 percent of your grade.

But the semester ends and you remember why you did this "college thing" in the first place.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
