10 Clothing Items You Should Definitely Have in Your College Closet

These clothing items will have you looking and feeling like a typical college student, but will also prepare you for things you may not have thought about.

1. Running shorts.

So comfy and quick! Perfect for the days you don't want to put in much effort to your look for class.

2. Birkenstocks or Birkenstocks look-a-likes.

These are super easy to slip on and go! They look great with so many things (my personal favorite campus look is Birkenstocks and running shorts).

3. School apparel.

You HAVE to show your love for your school any chance you get!

4. Crossbody bag.

These are the perfect size to bring to class or an outing with friends.

5. Neutral T-shirts.

These are staples in anyone's closet because they can be paired with anything. Stripes are my personal favorite!

6. Converse.

They go with everything! A CLASSIC.

7. Black leggings.

These are an essential, especially in the fall.

8. Flannels.

Another fall essential! These are the perfect item to add to a simple t-shirt look.

9. Your favorite dress.

You never know when you'll be invited to a formal or dinner. Make sure you're prepared!

10. Rainboots.

Be prepared to walk to class in the pouring rain!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
