We all know emotions tend to run high when stress is added to the equation.
Disney's Pixar 2015 film, "Inside Out" deals with the emotions of a young girl throughout her childhood, a movie I can relate to because my freshman year of college has been nothing but a whirlwind of emotions-- something I think we all can relate to.
From sadness to joy, we can look at the times that have shaped us into becoming who we want to be and realize that these emotions are all worth it in the end. Though right now we may be a mess, we can laugh about it later.
1. Waking up for an 8 a.m. class.
For any of us who have taken an 8 a.m. class, we know that waking up for it can be a nightmare. However, the best thing about waking up early is that you can use it as an excuse to drink more coffee, something that drags me out of bed every morning.
2. Your mind after a three-hour morning class.
After three-hours straight of being in class, I can barely keep myself awake. While my mind has a million things running through it, I have no energy left.
3. Parking. Need I say any more?
4. When someone almost backs into your car on campus.
Before driving around campus, my car was dent and scratch free. Now whenever I see anyone parked too close to my car, it makes me nervous!
5. When you go to sign up for classes and still have a hold on your account.
The hardest thing for some people is to find time to meet with their advisor to get the hold taken off of their account, especially with how busy our classes get at the end of the semester. Others forget about it and end up frantically emailing their advisor to help them.
6. When everyone is catching the stomach bug.
You don't have time for this! We all know that the stomach bug spreads quickly, and when one person gets it, everyone ends up avoiding them like the plague.
7. When it's final exam week.
The time where you have 15 papers due, three homework assignments and haven't slept in three days. We have all been here, all we want to do is just be done with it! We drive ourselves crazy, but it's worth it in the end!
8. That feeling you get when you're passing chemistry.
When you pass a hard class, it's an overwhelming feeling of joy!
9. When you are running late.
Especially on exam day, where your rush turns into finding the most creative way to get to class on time!
10. When you forget you have a quiz.
So you silently freak-out!
11. Walking across campus when it's snowing.
You'll probably be freezing even with a jacket and a hat!
Even though we feel as though we are on an emotional rollercoaster, our emotions can benefit us. We use them to make memories, learn lessons, and to make new friends. Our emotions don't control us, we control them. So let's make the rest of our college experience joyful!
