Often times at Colgate things can tend to get a bit too serious. In between the grueling demand of classes, rigorous work schedules, sports practices, office hours, late night library sessions, and tests that may have not turned out the way you wanted, it is important to take some time for some comedic relief. Whenever I’m with my friends and the conversation gets a little too worrisome I find that cracking an occasional pun can change everyone’s mood. Puns are like drinking an ice cold Gatorade during your halftime huddle, both refreshing and a chance to take a step back and regroup your focus on lighter thoughts. Whenever conversations delve into “Why your professor has it out for you?” “How your coop smoothie spilled all over your new clothes before your 8:20?” or “When will you stop getting bruises from slipping down the library hill?” just remember puns are the ultimate comedic medicine.
1. Monday’s are always hard especially when Frank breakfast isn’t going your way.
Go the healthy route and grab some fruit in the PEARsuit of happiness and it can change the course of your week!
2. On Tuesday you have your first chemistry test.
You have a feeling you completely bombed it, but its ok at least you remembered the symbol for helium, so just laugh it off… He! He! He!
3. Wednesday rolls around and infamous Colgate hills give a special meaning to the words “hump day”.
You slip on some ice on your way down to the gym but there is sNOw way that can bring you down.
4. It’s finally Thursday and you are almost done with the grueling week.
You hear of the annual 80’s party at Theta Chi and you find yourself jamming out to “Can’t TACH This”.
5. Friday is here at last and its hard not to get excited for two days of semi-freedom.
Your brains are FRI’d but your spirits are high.
6. Saturday is a day when it’s ok to say that you SAT on your butt all-day and just relaxed.
7. Often Sundays are spent in the library plugging away at your computer and in the library café.
I always have a LATTE of work.
