Switching From Coffee To Lattes - Worth It?

My unexpected realization.

Before entering my regular Saturday morning homework abyss at the nearby coffee shop I always find myself at, I stood up after placing my items down at my favorite spot. Upon standing and walking toward the counter to grab my per-usual caffeine fix, I looked up towards the menu and somehow the words "mocha latte" came from my mouth while ordering.

After hearing myself ask for a latte rather than my nearly-daily iced coffee, I was quick to almost take back what I had said and ask for something else, but I bit my tongue and let it slide this one time. Although, little did I know the order of a mocha latte would become a staple of mine.

As I sat back down at my table with my extremely unexpected order in my hand, I quickly had to taste-test. Especially since I have never really been a latte person at all, I expected my first sip to make me miss my per-usual iced caramel coffee, and wish more than anything I had just ordered my usual.

As I tasted the mixture of mocha, milk, and espresso, I knew that my order at this coffee shop would never ever change, and the mocha latte would forever be on the tip of my tongue as I walk into those doors. I have had an iced latte before, but it has been awhile, and my iced-coffee habits had definitely increased to the point where I hadn't even considered ordering anything different until this day.

As I finished my homework and exited this coffee shop, I knew for a fact my life was changed. When I say my life revolves around my morning coffee to pair with my study habits, I mean it. With this new integration of iced lattes that I never thought would ever happen, I was shocked but happily shocked—I must say. They're just so good!

So, moral of this lovely story is: try switching it up! I know many people who only stick to their exact coffee every single day, like myself prior to this, and I have found myself being completely shocked with my new-found love for iced lattes. And, as an avid coffee connoisseur, it's definitely nice to now have something to switch up the routine every once in a while!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
