After months of rumors, it was finally confirmed that Netflix had signed on for a reboot of "Gilmore Girls." The reboot is going to have a four-episode run and will include much of the original cast. Since the announcement of this reboot, fans (like myself) have been clinging to every detail we can get. It's starting to seem that each week we get new information on whats to come for the girls of Stars Hallow. Here is what we know about the "Gilmore Girls" reboot so far:
1. All three Gilmore Girls will be returning.
What would the show be without all three generations of Gilmore Girls? Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop and Lauren Graham have all signed on to reprise their roles.
2. Amy Sherman-Palladino is back.
The creator of Gilmore Girls was not associated with the final season of the show. Despite this, she will be involved with the Netflix reboot. The mastermind behind all the quick-witted and fast-paced humor will be back!
3. There will only be four episodes.
The newest installment is tentatively titled "Gilmore Girls: Seasons." Each episode is going to be 90 minutes long and will be available on Netflix.
4. The boyfriends will be returning.
Just this past week, it has been confirmed that all three of Rory's boyfriends, Logan, Dean, and Jess will be featured in some capacity of the reboot. Matt Czuchry, Milo Ventimiglia, and Jared Padalecki have all signed on to head back to Stars Hallow. The announcement has brought up the age-old question of "Who should Rory end up with?" (100 times Jess, am I right?)
5. Paris and Doyle are probably still together.
It's hard to imagine a world where Paris and Doyle aren't together. Thankfully, it looks like we don't have to! Danny Strong, the actor who played Doyle, tweeted this picture with Liza Weil just last week.
6. April is back.
Scott Patterson, Luke, signed on for the reboot very early on. It wasn't confirmed that Luke's daughter, April, would be returning until just last week. This announcement came with mixed reviews from fans. April's character was not as big as others and it has left many fans wondering what the importance of her return will be.
7. Ed Herrmann will be missed.
In December 2014, Ed Herrmann, who played Richard Gilmore, passed away. Kelly Bishop says he will certainly be missed. She said she will miss having him on the set to do crosswords with. She also says that her character Emily Gilmore will have to deal with the loss of Richard on the show as well.
Even though we know a lot about who will be returning for the reboot, there is still so much fans hope to find out! For instance, when will it be available on Netflix? Did Rory end up with any of the boyfriends? Why is Melissa McCarthy not going to be a part of it? I guess we will have to wait for these answers in the time leading up the reboot. One thing is for sure, it's an exciting time to be a "Gilmore Girls" fan!
