While half of America traveled through Europe this summer, we all came back with the same sickness: the travel bug. With summer being consumed by over-working ourselves & an occasional margarita, the end of the season is the perfect time to plan a weekend getaway. So grab your snacks & a couple bikini's because we're goin' road tripping!

1) San Clemente

Easily one of the cutest little beach towns that Southern California has to offer. If you find yourself craving massive acai bowls and days spent surfing, San Clemente is your place to be. Located only an hour away from San Diego, you could make it a day trip or a staycation.

2) Joshua Tree

If your dream weekend away is looking more involved with nature, take a pit stop at one of SoCal's gems: Joshua Tree. Camp your weekend away in this gorgeous desert where hiking & bug bites are just right up your sleeve!

3) Santa Barbara

One of California's most famous cities where your love for shopping & eating go hand-and-hand. Known for its Hispanic heritage, find yourself drowning in top-shelf tequila and high in boutiques for an all around boujee weekend.

4) Big Sur

If you can't get enough of SoCal's endless views, Big Sur will delight you with its awe-worthy coastline. Rather you're in the mood to hike, camp or beach-it Big Sur is open to all guests.

5) Santa Cruz

Thrift stores, hippies, & rollercoasters', what more could you want? Santa Cruz is home to good eats & lots of entertainment. After taking a dip in the water, take a walk down the boardwalk for a funnel cake during sunset.

6) San Francisco

Arguably one of America's greatest cities. Take a walk across the bay bridge for a foggy yet spectacular view & let the city take you away. From San Fran's colorful housing & gut-dropping hills to its notorious prison, you're in for endless things to get into. Best part? I can't decide between the food, the views, or the people.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
