Have you ever walked into a room and known something else was in there? You carefully take a step forward, looking all around, and there it is. An eight-legged monster peacefully clinging to the wall.
Do you flip out and run away? Or do you attack?
Spiders are terrifying creatures that I'm sure many people would happily live without. Even if you try to avoid them at all costs, they have a habit of appearing out of nowhere. If you are as terrified of them as Ron Weasley, these are likely the stages you go through when encountering the hideous beasts.
1. The moment you first see the spider.
You notice the nasty thing hanging out on the wall and you have to fight the urge to run away.
2. You start trash-talking to overcome your fear.
3. Then it starts moving.
Staying calm is no longer possible when you know it's coming for you.
4. You realize no one is around to kill it for you.
One of the worst parts about being an adult is knowing you can't call your parents to get rid of bugs for you.
5. You find protection in case it attacks.
There's no way it's falling in your hair or shirt. Nope.
6. You work up the nerve to kill it.
It's up to you to face your fears. It's you or the spider.
7. Since you're not a ruthless murderer, you give it fair warning.
8. Then, you unleash your battle cry.
Some people might call it screaming in terror, but you tell yourself you're being threatening.
9. You attack it with all of your force.
You have to make sure there's no way it will survive.
10. You have a moment of peace, thinking you killed it, but it starts moving again.
It must be immortal. You took multiple steps to ensure its annihilation. But. It. Won't. Die.
11. There's nothing left to do except run.
12. And keep running.
Just until you know it can't get to you anymore.
