If you're looking for a good classic scary movie to watch either before or during Halloween, then there are tons of movies that you can check out! Even though the classics are different from the horror movies that you know today, that doesn't mean that they aren't scary. So, if you're looking for a good movie to watch with friends, family or alone, here are eight movies that you should check out if you haven't seen them already.

1. "Halloween"

You definitely need to see the old "Halloween" movie since the new "Halloween" movie was just released! It's one of the most classic horror movies of all time! If you enjoy watching horror movies that feature a creepy stalker and involve knives, then you should check out this movie! And if you're planning on seeing the new "Halloween" movie, then it's perfect to watch the old "Halloween" movie first so you can compare.

2. "Psycho"

If you're looking for a good classic horror movie to watch, then you should check out watching this famous Hitchcock movie! It's one of my top favorite scary movies. It has great acting, and the story draws you in. The movie gives you chills at times while also featuring characters that are well developed. It's also fun to see the type of scary movies that used to cause nightmares for people back in the 1960's compared to the horror movies in today's entertainment. And it features iconic scenes that people still talk about today.

3. "Poltergeist"

It's not only a classic horror movie, but it's also fun to watch if you enjoy ghost stories! The movie is definitely not as scary compared to the horror movies that are on now, and the graphics are very archaic compared to the graphics that are used today. However, it's a really fun movie to watch if you want to watch a classic horror movie before Halloween begins!

4. "The Exorcist"

This is one of the most well-known horror movies. If you haven't heard of it, it's about a mother who finds out that her daughter is possessed by a demon, and she struggles to save her daughter with the help of several priests. The movie will either give you nightmares or will make you laugh at what people considered scary back then. I experienced both since any movie that features a possession gives me nightmares! It's a fun classic horror movie to watch, and it's best to try to watch during Halloween if you have no plans.

5. "Scream"

"Scream" is a really fun horror movie to watch if you want a horror movie that makes you laugh while also scares you at the same time. It's one of the most well-known horror movies, and it's a fun movie to watch with a group of friends. It can be a little predictable at times, but it's a great movie to watch if you're looking for a classic horror movie.

6. "The Shining"

This is one of my top favorite classic horror movies! It's a classic Stephen King movie, and it's great to watch before Halloween! There are so many great scenes, and it features great actors. It's a lot of fun to watch, and it's very intense. You'll find yourself wanting to re-watch it several times after you see it for the first time!

7. "Carrie"

If you love Stephen King, then you'll love this movie! It's his first story that started his fame, and it's a fun classic movie to watch either by yourself or with a group of friends! If you can't remember what the movie is about, it's about a young teenage girl who is a little different. She gets bullied in high school, and when she finds that she has abilities, she decides to seek revenge.

8. "Alien"

This movie is a really good movie to watch if you want scary mixed with a thriller. The beginning starts out slow, but it starts to pick up around the middle. There are also a lot of pop outs, and it creates an intense scary atmosphere. I watched it this summer, and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would! It definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat with its intensity.

If you're looking for a classic horror movie to watch before Halloween or during Halloween, you should check these movies out. You can find many of these movies either on TV, Netflix, Hulu or at Redbox. Halloween is one of the best holidays because it gives you an excuse to watch a lot of classic horror movies either by yourself or with friends and family. In addition, you can watch all of these classic horror movies by making a movie night for yourself. So grab some popcorn and watch these movies In the dark so that you can get the full experience of watching a classic horror movie!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
