Five Christmas Movies You've Probably Never Heard Of
Mark T. Hardy

Well guys, the big day is almost upon us, and you know what that means, right? You guessed it! Christmas movie marathon time! But we won't be looking at just any random Christmas movie. Oh no! That would be far too simple! We're going to take a look into the archives, into the less explored movies of Christmas past, where we'll uncover five undiscovered "treasures" and then share their wonders with the world.

1. A Christmas Story 2

And I bet you all thought the story was going to end with Ralphie having one of the best Christmases ever. Well, you'd be wrong! As it turns out, there were so many subtle clues in the original that hinted to a sequel that the producers waited an entire twenty-nine years to spring them all on you! Not only that, but Ralphie and his friends are teenagers now, and this time, are faced with far more than getting their tongues stuck on telephone poles, beating down bullies, and shooting their eyes out. This time, they have to deal with something far more pressing, something that every fan of the original desperately wanted to see; responsibility.

2. The Christmas Tree

Here we have an intriguing story about young orphans that live under the rule of a tyrant of a caretaker. Pretty standard storyline, right? But wait. It. Gets. BETTER! It's also animated! And if you thought the people that made those Titanic animated films (yes, they actually exist) were masters of their craft, wait until you see the skill and effort that was put into this little gem!

3. Star Wars Holiday Special

If someone says Star Wars and your first thought ISN'T how it relates to Christmas, you must be thinking of the wrong franchise! That's right, Star Wars, the same epic saga by George Lucas that introduced iconic characters such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and the big man in black himself, Darth Vader, has a Christmas special. What better way to further the story along than to put these characters in a holiday setting. But it isn't just ANY holiday--in fact, surprise surprise, it isn't even Christmas!--it's the universally known Wookie holiday known as Life Day! What's that? You don't believe such a holiday exists? Well then go out and find the movie and see for yourself! Or save some time and just look it up on Wookiepedia. Either works!

4. Christmas Shoes

You've heard the song, and probably cried to it, over a hundred times on the radio already, but did you know that there was a movie adaptation of it also? Well, there is! And it definitely puts things into perspective, in ways that the song never could. The singer/narrator of the song now has a backstory, the kid with the shoes' family is given screentime, and their neighbors are too! Complete with the classic Hallmark movie touch, it's a movie that all people should experience at least once!

5. Anything Christmas-related on the Hallmark Channel

And speaking of Hallmark, I guarantee you that, around this time of year, there are at least a thousand movies to choose from to get you into the holiday spirit. Now now, don't get all panicked. The storylines are all pretty much identical, so you won't have to worry about too much of a variety. But, that said, I'll bet you'll have never heard of any of the movies they show on there. Unless, of course, you're already an avid consumer of such movies.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
