It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas , Ev'rywhere you go!
It seems as each holiday skips their month so the next holiday can come. Some stores in July already have their Christmas decorations out and by the time it is December, then decorations are 50% off. Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas, but I also like to celebrate it in December and not in November.
My local Walmart already has a countdown to when Christmas is and has decorated the entire store. Thanksgiving has not even come and it seems as though it has. Most decorations for Thanksgiving are 75% off and in a corner with the Halloween decorations.
I for one love Christmas, it is my favorite holiday because my birthday is right around the corner from Christmas. Yes, I love to watch the 25 Days of Christmas countdown drinking hot chocolate with my onesies on. I love baking cookies and treats with my mom before Christmas overeating my diet away. Plus the smell of the fresh Christmas tree in the living room makes me happy.
But I really do enjoy eating my Thanksgiving day meal without remembering that there Christmas music playing or hearing Christmas commercials in the background.
I understand that this has become a shopping tactic through the shopping market. Stores have these deals throughout November and December with layaways and Black Friday which have become Black Thursday, by the way. Stores are making these large profits before "Christmas shopping " even begins.
Christmas to me doesn't seem the same anymore. Christmas starts in November and by the time Christmas is even close, people are tired of seeing the Christmas decorations out. We have heard the Christmas carols on the radio for over a month and stores covered in Christmas decorations. The "Christmas Spirit" for me is taken away before Christmas is even close to being here.
Do not get me wrong, I love Christmas to death but I like to start my "Christmas Spirit" on December 1st. When December 1st hits, bring on the Christmas music, bring out the Christmas decorations to make the house look like Santa's workshop, and drink hot chocolate by the fireplace if it isn't 90 degrees outside ( since I live in the south). Christmas seems to bring everybody closer together during that time of the year. People seem to be friendlier than every when December hits. The atmosphere seems to even change for the holiday. But for the love of God's beautiful green Earth, I would love to get through November without seeing Christmas decorations and music played on the radio until December 1st.
