Maybe your sister only put expensive things on her Christmas list. Maybe you got a girl you don't really know for secret Santa. Maybe you just started dating, like, a week ago, and are struggling with what kind of present is appropriate. Whatever your circumstance, fear not, because I have compiled a foolproof gift formula for any and all girls in your life that won't break the bank and is full of things any girl would love to have.

1. Get a mug.

Target has great mugs. So does World Market, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, etc. Heck, I even got a mug I couldn't resist at Walmart the other day for a total of $3.

2. Socks.

Fuzzy socks, $1 socks from Target, a selection from Old Navy's sock rack, it doesn't matter. Our feet are always cold. And we just really love cute socks.

3. Face masks.

You can find a wide variety of face masks at Target or Walmart for $2.50. If you're feeling fancy, this mask and this mask from Amazon both have great reviews and I can't wait to try them myself. This mask from Sephora is also one of my favs, if you're really wanting to treat your girl.

4. Literally any kind of alcohol.

Wine, champagne, mini bottles... you cannot go wrong here.

5. Candy and/or chocolate.

Target sells fun hot cocoa sticks . You can find champagne gummies on Amazon. Or just get their favorites.

6. Cute wine glasses.

With cute sayings like "Sip Sip Hooray," or just a cute "Cheers," we could always use more things to put wine in. Drinking more wine and doing less dishes = a perfect gift addition.

7. Bath anything.

No, you will not be looked at weird if you give us soap. We love soap. Give me a bottle of Bath & Body Work's Beautiful Day and you've won in my book. A new scent they have is Ginger and Cardamom and it smells like Christmas and it extremely relaxing. Bath bombs are also a HUGE win ( Lush has the best ones).

8. CANDLES.

Candles are the best gifts ever. They're warm, smell good, and amp up any room's aesthetic. Volcano candles are easily a favorite. Bath & Body Works has a HUGE selection. Again, you can't go wrong here.

And there you have it. Get them all, or pick and choose. You're welcome.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
