This EP has vibes—Christmas vibes, cozy vibes, fireplace vibes, marshmallow vibes, onesie vibes. It’s all in the title, "Christmas and Chill." Bae vibes. This album is chilling with bae by the fireplace in mid-December on a snowy night, or as Ariana Grande would put it, “mid-July, under the sun,” with her being a Florida girl at heart. This album is not the bouncy, pop Ariana that you hear on the radio or on her last Christmas EP, "Christmas Kisses." This is the sultry, R&B Ariana that you can find on some of her lesser known songs from "Yours Truly" and "My Everything." She described it to her mom on Snapchat as "baby-making music," but what else would "Christmas and Chill" mean?
This EP may not give off that classic Christmas feel, but it gives you jingle bells and talk of milk and cookies, which is Christmas-y enough. She released it on Dec. 17, only giving us eight days to jam to it but I will honestly be listening to this non-stop for the next few months.
For those of you who do not know what an EP is, it’s several recorded songs that are not quite long enough to be considered an album, but still more than just a single or two. Even with it being just an EP, it is still surprising to think that she did this whole EP in one week in her home.
Have a listen and witness for yourself how this girl can sleigh over the world in the span of one week. You can also find these tracks on iTunes and Spotify.
Here are some GIFs to look at while you listen to each song.
1. Intro
These moves literally go with the song. Play the song and watch this at the same time, I’m telling you.
2. Wit it (Ariana Grande calls this song 'Milk and Cookies')
3. December
"Merry Christmas. Here I am, boy."
4. Not Just on Christmas
I'm still feeling Beyonce's vibe, though.
5. True Love
Okay, seriously…I’m feeling this on the entire EP.
6. Winter Things
It’s like she’s sleighing over the world with nine of the most fierce reindeer.
Merry Twerkmas to all, and to all a good night!
