Christine Ford Is Not Worthy Of Any Sympathy

If something truly happened, it should have been addressed thirty years ago.

Those who are politically oriented are without question aware of the latest accusations made toward Brett Kavanaugh, Republican Supreme Court nominee. There is a woman who went to high school with Kavanaugh, Christine Blasey Ford, who is accusing him of sexual assault. Convenient timing as he is in the last stages of being confirmed, right?

Many eyebrows are being raised at the allegations being made. However; there are a select group of people that are genuinely buying into this woman's poor attempt to slow down a Republican rise.

When the allegations were made, sixty-five WOMEN, not men, that also attended high school with Brett Kavanaugh came forward defending his integrity. According to my research on the controversial matter, Ford's attorneys have made the statement, "...a full investigation by law enforcement officials will ensure that the crucial facts and witnesses in this matter are assessed in a non-partisan manner, and that the Committee is fully informed before conducting any hearing or making any decisions."

The FBI previously dismissed the case due to the timeline of the said events. When you wait over thirty years to suddenly recall your said "sexual assault," in which said perpetrator is moments away from being confirmed into the Supreme Court; you should expect severe backlash.

Further commentary made by Ford's attorneys included details that she has received not only positive attention for coming forward but also very negative attention including death threats. She has also allegedly "forced" to leave her home.

I cannot bring myself to feel any sympathy for Christine Ford. Not to mention the fact that she was invited in to testify against Kavanaugh, and she is refusing to do so. If she was so inclined to come forward in the first place, one would think she would be willing to testify against the man who allegedly tried to pin her down and assault her in the 1980s.

Women like her that use their gender and "repressed memories" toward a political agenda, and it is sickening. These women are an embarrassment to the female community and the reason modern feminism is nothing to celebrate. In the event that these events truly happened, why wait thirty plus years to let it surface? In the event that Ford was truly bothered by what she claims happened years ago, it would have surfaced long before Brett Kavanaugh's political climb.

Unfortunately, this sort of thing happens all the time. Whether it is to achieve something politically or to gain attention by hopping on the #MeToo bandwagon; unless you address the assault or misconduct at the moment it happens, it is inconceivable to me that anyone still buys into what these women are selling. It is truly pathetic. For this reason alone, I will never support feminism for what it has become today.

There is simply no validity attached to the #MeToo movement if you never bothered to press charges against your perpetrator, and that is the harsh reality many will unfortunately never come to terms with nor have to.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
