I can't tell you the number of hours I spend listening to music throughout the week. Whether it is as I'm on my way to class, heading to work, studying in the library, or just chilling in my room more times than not you can find me with headphones in jamming out. When is tarted college I wanted a playlist that both motivated me to get up and get ready for the day while also allowed me to find time to spend some time worshiping God in the morning to start my day off right. It took some time and a lot of searching for different styles of Christian music that seemed fitting and that I enjoyed to finally come up with a list of killer songs that both get me ready for my day and prepare my heart for a day filled with God's presence.

Below I have included a list of 18 of my favorite songs that are my current go-to worships songs when I'm down, need motivation, or I'm just in the mood for a good beat. Included with each song are some of the lyrics that made me fall in love with the song and a link to the song on YouTube. Now this list is by no means the limit when it comes to fantastic Christian music, but it is my current top 18 songs that I felt everyone should listen to at least once.

1. "Free to be Me" - Francesca Battistelli

"'Cause I got a couple dents in my fender

Got a couple rips in my jeans

Try to fit the pieces together

But perfection is my enemy

On my own I'm so clumsy

But on your shoulders I can see

I'm free to be me"

2. "He Knows My Name" - Francesca Battistelli

"I'm not living for applause

I'm already so adored

It's all His stage

He knows my name"

3. "First" - Lauren Daigle

"Before I bring my need

I will bring my heart!

Before I lift my cares/I will lift my arms

I wanna know You/I wanna find You

In every season

In every moment

Before I bring my nee

I will bring my heart

And seek You"

4. "How can it be" - Lauren Daigle

"You Plead My Cause
You Right My Wrongs
You Break My Chains
You Overcome
You Gave Your Life
To Give Me Mine
You Say That I Am Free

How Can It Be"

5. "The Valley" - Ellie Holcomb

"I know I can't fight this battle
Been surrounded on every side
You say that you will deliver me
Well I am praying that you'll restore my life

So come and find me
In the darkest night of my soul
In the shadow of the valley
I am dying for you to make me whole
For you to make me whole"

6. "Hosanna" - Hillsong United

"Heal my heart and make it clean

Open up my eyes to the things unseen

Show me how to love like You have loved me

Break my heart for what breaks Yours

Everything I am for Your kingdom's cause

As I walk from earth into eternity"

7. "Beautiful Things" - Gungor

"Hope is springing up from this old ground

Out of chaos life is being found in You

You make beautiful things

You make beautiful things out of the dust

You make beautiful things

You make beautiful things out of us"

8. "Voice of Truth" - Casting Crowns

"But the waves are calling out my name
And they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed

The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again. "Boy, you'll never win!"
"You'll never win!"
But the Voice of Truth tells me a different story
The Voice of Truth says, "Do not be afraid!"
And the Voice of Truth says, "This is for My glory""

9. "Broken Together" - Casting Crowns

"How I wish we could go back to simpler times
Before all our scars and all our secrets were in the light
Now on this hallowed ground, we've drawn the battle lines
Will we make it through the night?

It's going to take much more than promises this time
Only God can change our minds"

10. "Pieces" - Steffany Gretzinger

"Your love's not fractured

It's not a troubled mind

It isn't anxious

It's not the restless kind

Your love's not passive

It's never disengaged

It's always present

It hangs on every word we say

Love keeps its promises

It keeps its word

It honors what's sacred

'Cause its vows are good

Your love's not broken

It's not insecure

Your love's not selfish

Your love is pure"

11. "HARD LOVE" - NEEDTOBREATHE (feat. Lauren Dangle)

"Hold on tight a little longer

What don't kill ya, makes ya stronger

Get back up, 'cause it's a hard love

You can't change without a fallout

It's gon' hurt, but don't you slow down

Get back up, 'cause it's a hard love"

12. "Even If" - MercyMe

"I know You're able
And I know You can
Save through the fire
With Your mighty hand
But even if You don't
My hope is You alone

I know the sorrow
I know the hurt
Would all go away
If You'd just say the word
But even if You don't
My hope is You alone"

13. "Not Today Satan" - KB, Andy Mineo

"I'm just covered by the blood

Thinkin' about the way that they did you serpent

Crushin' like Valentine's

Can't you see what the mission cost with the finish, swish

Don't try to slide in my DM

OJ Simpson with the defense

Lake of fire say we need him

Last weekend, but

Not today Satan"

14. "Get Through" - KB, Lecrae

"Lord, I'm feelin' heartless
Can you help me find some peace?
Can't explain what's happenin'
But I'm livin' backwards in the dark where I can see"

15. "Sidelines" - Lecrae

"They scared that I'ma cause these babies to stumble

They scared that my integrity is gon' crumble, appreciate the prayers

But all that pressure either gon' make you humble

Or make you hang out on the sidelines, and fear you gon' fumble

Put me in coach, ain't out here flexin' for nobody

I was born to do it, God don't make mistakes and say I'm sorry

He ain't never dropped the ball

I don't never plan to fumble

Catch me runnin' with them lions

Reggie Bushin' in the jungle"

16. "Blessings" - Lecrae

"They don't see that it's a lot of us

Everybody move anonymous

Won't take that credit, I know where we get it

Them blessings be comin' from God above

I was doin' all kinda bad

Where the choir at? Tell 'em I need a verse

Hit the pew and tell God he's first"

17. "Undefeated" - KB

"Handle it can you handle it

I'm mad at the worlds' mismanagement's

Thousands of years of worst things and it hurts me

But I got purposes and I hurt for men

If you don't know it now you will know it then

There's a greater good though worth it

When my glory comes and reverses it

Amen"

18. "Good Good Father" - Chris Tomlin

"Oh, and I've seen many searching for answers far and wide

But I know we're all searching

For answers only you provide

'Cause you know just what we need

Before we say a word"

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
