Recently, I've been trying to have a healthier lifestyle. I've been seeing many celebrities talk about going vegan/plant-based and it inspired me to try as well. At first, it was really challenging and felt very unfulfilling (in the tasting area at least), but I have learned to love it.
The most challenging thing about being plant-based is avoiding temptation. I usually give myself a couple cheat days, but for the most part, I try to limit eating all meat products including dairy and eggs. You wouldn't believe how many things contain meat products. Especially tasty things. This made it especially hard during the first few weeks and I'm not gonna lie, it's been pretty off and on.
Another challenging aspect of a plant-based diet is having the time and energy to think of elaborate meals. In order for me not to get bored of this diet I really had to do research ingredients that can be used for flavor and different types of recipes. I'm lucky I was raised on green vegetables and soup because I would not have survived this diet.
Besides those two challenges, I would definitely advise a plant-based diet. This is because I feel great. I've experienced ruts between plant-based and nonplant-based diets, and I can tell the difference in how I feel between the two. When I haven't been eating meat I have tons of energy and I feel great physically. When I am eating meat, on the other hand, I tend to feel more bloated, less energetic, and sick. Because of this, I've learned to feel really guilty when I begin eating meat on a regular basis.
Even though people love making fun of vegan/plant-based people, I would advise that you look at your biases and try it out. I guarantee that you'll feel great mentally and physically. If you think I'm lying, just try it out for two weeks and if lied then sue me. I just won't be expecting that because I'm that sure you'll love it.
