We have come to a point in our lives where we need to start making decisions that no longer just affect ourselves but others. This makes choosing harder than ever before. How do you make a choice when you know there may be people that don't agree with it? It’s a difficult question but the answer is quite simple; choose what makes you happy.
Happiness is not easy to define. It is different for everyone. What might make you happy, may make another person miserable. It is important to listen to your heart and choose that. If someone were to flip a coin right before it lands, which option are you secretly hoping for it to land on? Don’t be afraid if others will judge you or disagree, just do what is best for you. You never want to regret missing an opportunity or regret any of your choices. Although regret is almost impossible to avoid, it can definitely be lessened if we listen to our hearts and choose to make ourselves happy. Choose love for others and yourself.
Above all, you need to be happy with yourself. You cannot make others happy unless you are happy. Unfortunately, you will never be able to make everyone happy. As much as you want to please everyone, it is simply impossible. There will always be at least one person that does not like your decision. And that is completely OKAY. Happiness is one aspect of your life that should never be compromised. It’s your life and you need to live it as you choose, not as others say for you too. Doing things for others does bring joy into your life; knowing that you made another person’s day better feels amazing, but you shouldn't have to sacrifice your own happiness. Your happiness is just as important as others. If you are able to bring happiness into your own life, then do just that because happiness is contagious. Stand up for yourself and be happy.
Have a positive outlook on life: the past, present, and future. You will find that your happiness and positivity will spread to others around you. It’s a chain reaction, but it starts within you. Making decisions that affect your life and others is not something to be taken lightly, but if you listen to your heart and choose what will make you happy and what will bring more love and joy into your life, I promise your decision was the right one.
