Trying to get festive the entire month of October? Here are a few of my favorite flicks (nothing too spooky of course).

1. The Haunted Mansion

An often forgotten classic with Eddie Murphy, but never the less amazing. So many people don't associate the movie with the Disney ride, but it's probably one of my favorite movies to watch this time of the year.

2. Matilda

Growing iup everyone raved about this movie that I actually never saw until I was 18 (uncultured I know), but it sure brings a little spooky magic to the air around this season

3. Twitches

twin witches. need I say more? Honestly, I wish I had gotten this oppurnity like how cool?

4. Halloweentown

Literally the entire series brings me joy. I watch it every year, my poor parents have seen it so many times, but it is honestly my favorite way to get in the mood for the season.

5. Hocus Pocus

Anything pertaining to witches is really my thing, so this movie is very much up my alley. It is a classic for sure set in Salem making things all the more spooky.

6. Nightmare Before Christmas

Honestly one of the greatest movies that I found to be the strangest as a child, but Jack Skelton has my heart.

7. Ghostbusters

Who ya gonna call? Pretty sure everyone knows the song as it is an anthem around this season, and the movie (even the remake) is quite the catch.

8. Casper

Pretty sure Casper, both the ghost and human form, was my first love. An absolute treat of a movie with just enough ghoul foolishness.

9. The Harry Potter Series

This one is pretty self explanatory I think? Making your own butterbeer to go with it really sets the vibe too.

10. Beetlejuice

An old thriller with lots of laughs guaranteed.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
